A Very Long Overdue Update

I think every day that I need to blog, but I have been so busy! I am setting aside about 20 minutes to update the blog. It has been 3 months, and so much has happened! I will begin with Gregory.

Gregory had his 2nd birthday in September, and my-oh-my has he hit the terrible 2's. We will get through it, but it is pretty tough at times. Luckily he isn't a biter, but when he gets super upset he has started kicking and hitting a little. We are trying to get him to stop that before it becomes a real issue. On the positive side of Gregory being a 2 year old, he is fully potty trained!! That means we only have to buy diapers for one baby now :) He is growing to be such a big, loving boy!

Addison will have her 1st birthday party this Saturday. I am definitely in denial about not having a "baby" anymore. She has been taking steps since October, and became a full-fledged walker at the beginning of November. I am so proud of her! She is such a big girl!

Bradley is still working hard as ever! I am doing the same! Not too much about us, it's always about the kids!

Fun Weekend with Pops

We had such a LONG weekend this past weekend! My Aunt Debbie, Uncle Mike, and cousin Daniel came in this past weekend for our annual family reunion. So Friday, we went to Nana's house. Gregory did not have a nap at all on Friday! We got home around 9 or so. It was such a long day! On Saturday, we went to the family reunion in Rockwall. It was fun. I took Gregory over to the park to play. He was somewhat interested, but it was so hot! I know he would have had more fun if Daddy would have been there, but Daddy was taking his parents to the airport. After Gregory decided he was done playing on the playground he went to play with Daniel and Aunt Sarah. They were throwing a softball. He grew tired of that pretty quick, and then we went inside to cool off. We were probably back inside the building for a quick 2 minutes, and then Gregory wanted to follow his cousin Molly outside to play on a different (shaded) playground behind the building we were in. He had to climb over a plastic barrier to get into the playground (he was big enough to do it) and they all of a sudden he started freaking out. Right where he had crawled over, there was a massive pile of some kind of ants. He got bitten everywhere! We left before the family reunion was over because Gregory and Addison both needed a nap. Well, Addison took a nap, but Gregory decided that a nap was not for him. That means that 2 days in a row, he did not have a nap. THAT MEANS TROUBLE! We went to Nana's house around 5:30 for dinner. Cousin Michael was still there when we got there. Gregory was not too fond of him at first. But then Michael finally made Gregory laugh, so then they could play together. Dinner was great, it was left overs. But leftovers at Nana's house are never bad! I think we finally left Nana's around 8:30. It was another long day, and the kids were so tired!

Sunday was so much fun! We went to church in the morning, and then we went to Pop's house to go out on the lake. Well, it took forever to get out because some cord or something had busted. While we waited, Gregory helped Aunt Sarah mow the back yard. Then he came inside and watched "Up". He LOVES that movie! It's probably about 2:00 at this time, and both kids had still not had a nap. GREAT! Dad's girlfriend Lynne made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. They were good. Addison somehow got a piece of chocolate chip. She LOVED it! When we finally got out on the boat, Gregory was having a blast. Addison, not so much. I finally got her to sleep, and she took about an hour and a half nap while we were out and about. It was a huge difference from last year, Gregory was so excited!

Fun Time with Wyatt

I have been watching our friend's son Wyatt a couple of days a week, and it has been so much fun! He and Addison love each other so much! I am always catching them staring at each other. It's so funny! Addison is always following him around the house. I got Addison up from her nap and was changing her diaper, Wyatt came to stand by her side. Then Addison decided it would be fun to take Wyatt's pacifier. He didn't mind at all. Then when she was finished, about two seconds later, she just gave it back to him.
We went to Chic-Fil-A after we took Gregory to school yesterday. They had lots of fun.

Gregory's first day of school

Gregory's first day of weekday school at the church was today. He goes every Tuesday and Thursday now. He is getting to be such a big boy. He wasn't being very cooperative this morning before school. I wanted to get a cute picture, but these are all I got. He was so ready to get out of the door.
When I got to the church to pick Gregory up from school he was still asleep. His teacher told me when she went to change his pull up it was dry and he asked to go potty. So he went in the bathroom and went potty. Then when we got home he told me he had to go "poo-poo." No accidents today!
This is the picture that Gregory brought home today!

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was so much fun!

Friday night we went out to eat at Sauza in Fate with the Calhouns. What a great family! (PS.. Joy, let's never go there again. Remind me to tell you why next time I see you.) It was fun, Gregory and Ella play so well together. They are always giving each other hugs and kisses :)

Saturday Grandma, Grandpa, KaKa, and Aunt Sarah came over and we had a mini early birthday party for Gregory. Grandma and Grandpa will be out of town for his real birthday party so they wanted to come over early. Gregory was so happy he got a Tonka Flip Car, and a Handy Manny tool set. Then Pops surprised him with his early birthday present. He got a swing set, and he loves it so much! Grandma brought cupcakes, ice cream, and root beer. Gregory's favorite was the root beer. He loves root beer when Mommy lets him have it (which is not often). Then we went to Nana's for dinner because the Harris' came into town from Stanton. Good dinner! But of course, dinner is always good at Nana's.

Sunday Gregory wanted to go to KaKa's, so we did. It was just a nice relaxing day!

Labor day (today) we just hung out around the house and then went to the Calhoun's house for dinner. Joy cooked a mean brisket and baked beans. I would comment on the ribs, but I didn't have any. Gregory had so much fun playing with Ella except for when he smacked her in the stomach and then later on when he slapped her on the face. Daddy took him and spanked him, then he came back to apologize and tell Ella he was sorry and she rejected him. It was so funny!

What a great, long, weekend this was. But it is about to change very quickly tomorrow and be super busy!

Tomorrow is Gregory's first day of weekday school at FBC Rockwall. I am so excited! I know that he is going to be so good, and make lots of friends! We have parent orientation after we (me and Addison) drop him off. How exciting!

Tomorrow, however, not as fun, I have to go renew the registration on my car. It is 2 months overdue. OOOPS! I had no idea though. Bradley and I thought it went out this month. I got a ticket. I have to go take care of all of that tomorrow. YUCK!

Times Flyin'

What a couple of weeks!! Blogging has been completely absent in my life. I've missed sharing about my wonderful family. What my husband calls my hobby, is what I call a job, CRAFTING. At first, I just started to make things for my kids, and as gifts for friends having babies, or with little babies. It has turned into such a great job. I am always bringing in orders, and contributing to my families green bank :) Lately, I have been so busy, that is all I am doing is making orders for others.

News about the family....

Bradley: Bradley has been doing everything the same pretty much. He has been such a blessing around the house, just helping out where the help is needed. And of course, golfing as much as I will let him :)

Nicole: I have just been working, and keeping house as best I can. I have also started watching our friends son Wyatt two days a week. It has been so much fun so far! His mom always says that he is high maintenance, but I don't think so.

:)
Gregory: Gregory has definitely hit the TERRIBLE 2s. He walks around the house pointing his finger at whoever he is mad at and saying, "NO, STOP IT!" He also thinks it is funny (mostly when we are in the car) to put his fingers in his ears and scream as loud as possible. He almost always gets in trouble, after I hide my face and get a quick laugh in. It is so hard to get angry at him, because I think everything he does is the cutest thing ever! Gregory has also started saying the blessing before dinner, and his prayers before bed. The best part about this, is that we don't usually have to "prompt" him. At dinner, sticks his hand out and says,"Hold hand." So we hold his hand, start him  off with "Thank you God," and then he finishes with what he is thankful for that day. It varies from day to day, but it is precious! Gregory is doing great on potty training. Today, he went all day in his big boy underwear without having an accident, until about 3:45 this afternoon. I was so proud of him. He always told me when he had to go. The biggest news in Gregory's life is that he gets to start weekday school at our church 2 days a week starting next week! We have been prepping like crazy.

modeling a bow for mommy
Addison: Not too much has been going on with our precious little girl. She is 8 months old now, and hitting all of her milestones on time, if not early. She is crawling everywhere, following me all around the house. She is also pulling up on everything. 2 weeks ago, she let go and stood up for about 10 seconds with no assistance. WHAT A BIG GIRL!!! I am so proud of her, if only she would get her first tooth....

Birthday Present in Progress

Today we spent part of the morning taking pictures of the kids. My dad is always telling me I never give him pictures, so I decided our gift to him for his birthday will be pictures of the kids on a Harley in all Harley gear. The day started off good, but right about the time we started taking pictures Addison got super fussy and Gregory just didn't want to look at the camera. I am happy with a few pictures that are of just Addison, but none of Gregory. We will definitely have round 2 of Harley pictures coming up either this week or next week.

Addison was in her dressing room :) pre-picture taking drinking her  bottle just lounging around. What a DIVA!!!

Gregory would not do anything today! Look at the look on his face! He was not a happy camper because he wasn't playing in one of PaPa's cars.

Addison loves Grandma and Grandpa! If only she would have looked at the camera at the appropriate time. That's okay, one day she will!

Sunday with the Sijanskys

We love it when the Sijanksys’ come over!
I got some of the best pictures of Gregory and Jackson on Sunday. We can never seem to get great pictures of the two of them together. This past Wednesday Gregory had a play date with LaBelle, Daxton, and Wyatt. Gregory and LaBelle always hold hands. So Sunday, Gregory wanted to hold Jackson's hand when we were leaving to go to the pool. I caught it, and they both were looking.

We didn't stay but about 30 minutes because it was so humid! Can't wait to go again. The kids (that includes Adam and Bradley) always have so much fun!

a LONG week

Well, it's been a very long week. I mean from last Monday up until now. So much stuff has been happening. The main thing being I have had so many bow orders!

Gregory is CRAZY! He is so stubborn! When he doesn't like what you tell him, he points his finger at you and says, “No, STOP IT!" It's so bad, but at the same time it is the cutest funniest thing ever! We are still working on potty training. Gregory has been doing pretty well the last couple of days. He has told us a few times, “Potty please." So we go into the bathroom and he goes number 1. We are still working on number 2. I try to watch for it because he kind of goes off and hides. I somehow ALWAYS miss it :)

Addison is growing like crazy! She pulls up on everything! She was standing up playing on this little play table of hers, eating a snack, when she just let go and stood up by herself for about 5 seconds. It threw me for a loop.  She doesn't really laugh which Gregory did all of the time, but she is so funny because she yells (or grunts). It is so cute!

Every day Gregory wants to go outside and play in the pool. Everyday when Gregory goes outside to play in the pool he picks up his empty bubble bottles, fills them up with water, and throws the water everywhere. Then REPEATS..... Gregory loves playing outside in his little pool. I always try and get him to wait until Bradley gets home from work because it it So hot, I don't really want Addison to be out there, and I sure don't want to be out there.
Gregory and Addison have been playing so well together! It is so cute! Especially when Addison will look at Gregory and smile and "grunt, yell". He just looks back at her and smiles and laughs. I always try to get him to talk back to her. When he finally does, he just says, " Addison sleep." Haha he wants her to go lay down for a nap, even if she just woke up.

This is from when Bradley went to lay down with Gregory to get him to take a nap. I went in Gregory's room to check on them, and they were both asleep. HAHA It was so sweet, they had fallen asleep watching The Incredibles. Gregory's choice movie for a Saturday afternoon nap.
